It departs from the linear rail shooter gameplay of the Panzer Dragoon series, introducing traditional RPG elements such as random encounters, semi-turn-based battles, and free-roaming exploration. I think it still blends in well enough with it's older peers.Panzer Dragoon Saga, known in Japan as Azel: Panzer Dragoon RPG, is a 1998 role-playing video game developed by Team Andromeda and published by Sega for the Sega Saturn. Also I replaced the Village track with it's respective music from this album, as it was painfully short in the OST version, and would loop far too often while playing. I figured it couldnt hurt to insert the more impressive modern versions.
Also I replaced the Main Menu and End Credits tracks with their respective versions from the amazing 20th Anniversary Arrangement album, as these tracks already were high quality CDDA and not Sega Saturn synths. I was able to earn an achievement for learning a permanent rune, but wasn't able to earn achievements for stuff like reaching new areas or bosses.Īll music has had its volume normalized and any silent portions perfectly trimmed out. It would be nice if the dev would allow music-only mods to not do this, as they dont alter the gameplay at all. I went with this soundtrack for a few reasons:ġ) There's an overall murky, cavernous, tribal rhythm to the score that works with this setting.Ģ) It's a game and soundtrack many folks have never experienced, so it shouldn't distract.ģ) It's got sort of a lo-fi sound that compliments the pixelated style of Dead Cells, I think.Īlso, currently all mods will disable your ability to earn SOME achievements, if you care about that. I hope to do some other soundtrack replacements later, especially one with more energetic music. It should be a good enough experience to freshen things up for a few runs.
